An award-winning romantic fiction author is set to host an evening of fun and laughter with St Helens Libraries.

Residents can join author Milly Johnson at Chester Lane Library on Thursday 8 August, 6pm, where she’ll discuss her life as an author and the inspiration behind her latest book ‘The Magnificent Mrs Mayhew’.

Milly is the writer of 15 bestselling novels with over two million sales worldwide. Her style is humorous, dealing with topics instantly identifiable with women all over the world primarily friendship, love, children and the workplace, giving her an extensive readership covering a wide range of ages.

Her books champion women, friendship and community spirit and hope. She often features characters who have had dreams and plans when younger but have been ground down by life and are in need of a revival.

Despite the joyful covers, Milly’s books often address harmful social issues such as domestic abuse and alcoholism.

Refreshments will be provided and there will be a free prize draw for all who attend. Copies of Milly’s books will also be on sale.

Tickets for this event are £6, £5 for St Helens Library card holders or £3 for concessions. Book your space online at www.culturalhubs.eventbrite.co.uk, or pop into Chester Lane to buy tickets directly.
