In association with Invest St Helens, working in partnership with the Steve Prescott Foundation, the business awards was organised in conjunction with the traditional community awards Pride of St Helens – which take place this evening (Friday 16 November) – and supports St Helens Council’s vision to raise the profile of the borough’s hardworking, innovative and enterprising business community.

Awards were up for grabs in 12 categories, including employer of the year; growing the visitor economy; and the Pride of St Helens Business Award.

Winners on the night were:

· Network Space – Medium/Large Business Award, sponsored by NatWest

· Mill Green School – Skills for the Future Award, sponsored by Knauf Insulation

· Communications Plus Ltd – Employer of the Year, sponsored by Lucam Consultancy

· Amy Dawber from Groundwork – Employee/Team of the Year, sponsored by Unite the Union

· Groundwork – Community Impact Award, sponsored by Halton & St Helens Voluntary and Community Action.

· St Helens R.F.C – Growing the Visitor Economy Award, sponsored by GlobalMutual

· Vinyline Graphics – Growing the Creative Industry Award, sponsored by Cultivate

· Nijman/Zeetank – Excellence in Logistics Award, sponsored by St Helens College

· Coral Products Ltd – Excellence in Manufacturing Award, sponsored by St Helens Theatre Royal

· Communications Plus Ltd – Pride of St Helens Business Award, sponsored by Invest St Helens

Eamonn McManus, Chairman of both the St Helens Economy Board and St Helens R.F.C, said: “Last night was an opportunity to celebrate the role of businesses, and other organisations who commit investments not only into their own organisations, but also into raising the profile of St Helens as a place to live, learn, visit and work.

“Great businesses nurture aspirations and pride, they inspire others, and above all, help to create jobs for our communities and wealth for the town.

“All the businesses here tonight participate and contribute to the economy of St Helens and I believe that there is a clear link between the prosperity and success of individual enterprises and the success of the town as a whole.”
